Hi, I’m Marcela

I’m a user experience designer and educator with a passion for learning and supporting others through their UX journey.

My work—whether UX design or education or branding—is about connection. Connection is where the magic happens. Connection is where we find the way forward and through. Connection is where we explore the endless possibilities and together make something tangible, something better than before.

Over the past 15 years, I've worked as an in-house designer at multiple startups, design manager at a Fortune 500, and UX consultant with agencies large and small.

I've taught over 400 students the fundamentals of UX as an instructor at General Assembly since 2016.

Currently, I freelance full-time, helping everyone from entrepreneurs with big dreams to government agencies with lofty purposes better connect with their audiences through research-based design.

I was born and raised in Nicaragua. I currently make DC my home where I live with my partner and our two rambunctious pups. I have ambitions of keeping plants alive but that day has not yet arrived.
